After several rounds of selection, judged by a professional jury*, three finalists will make it to the shortlist.

After the final debate and a final round of public voting during the SafeShops Awards ceremony, someone new will succeed Cis Scherpereel and be named e-commerce personality of the year.

Finalists of Web Celeb 2022!

These three finalists have been chosen by the jury to become “e-commerce personality of the year”. Read their story here!

Femke Mussels is at home in all markets. She has experience with both e-commerce within Telenet and the fashion society. For both she has created new websites. Delving into the new technologies of web development has always been her passion.

She has always been close to the evolution of the internet. In 2009, she already created a crowdfunding platform to support young entrepreneurs, artists and fashion designers to fully exploit their potential online.

This Web Celeb finalist is especially proud of the fact that she succeeded in putting crowdfunding on the map in Belgium

This experience brought Femke to Telenet, where she was responsible for setting up the Netweters community.  Working in the fashion industry was something she always dreamed of as a little girl. Offering a great online experience is a dream come true for her.

The most important facet to make an e-commerce story a success, , is execution. E-commerce project should not only look good and feel intuitive, but also requires flawless execution, great performance, data analysis, etc.. . You never have a second chance to make a first impression.

Finally, she wants to give Belgium’s e-commerce boost by structurally involving young students in companies. Also, according to her, Flanders and Wallonia should cooperate better. Congratulations Femke!

Sven De Waele built his first website in 2009, which was also his start in e-commerce. Since then it really is his passion. By 2013 he had a total of 28 webshops under Fundoo in Belgium and the Netherlands. Later he built Fun into an omni-channel concept with e-commerce as an important part of their strategy.

Now Sven is continuing his story at Pharmapets, with which he is strongly committed to international growth.
Furthermore, he is only at the beginning of his story with PharmaPets. But they are already recognised by the major financial newspaper De Tijd.

He shares his expertise through all kinds of platforms to share his story, also through his network he tries to share his advice.

E-commerce will become increasingly dominant, and in some sectors even the most important channel. He is also convinced that e-commerce will have to move to a-commerce. This is the automation of trade with subscriptions. The most important facets to make an e-commerce project a success are: good systems that are naturally connected, marketing and the focus on the most important through data.

Finally, according to him, e-commerce in Belgium can get a boost by focusing on niches, they will be able to make the difference. Congratulations Sven!

Kim Severy started Mamzel in 2010, then still as a home party company.

Soon, she wanted to digitize and chose to present their digital look book via an app.

The beginning of a small webshop was immediately born. Over the years, she has taught herself everything, done a lot from the heart and with the desire to improve every day. Thanks to a consistent digital marketing strategy since 2019, there was a balance between the home parties and the webshop. Corona unfortunately put an end to the homeparties but gave Kim the time to fully focus on the online shop.

She turned Mamzel into a true e-commerce delight. She is also convinced that the “mobile first” world will continue to grow.

She shares her experience through her network. Since her first day as an entrepreneur, she has been active in various network organisations.

Working together is the only way to be sustainable and successful in the world of e-commerce.

With Mamzel, Kim has an international sales market. She recognises that not everyone has that option, which is why they offer a marketplace for local designers to encourage local talent.
Kim is certain that authenticity is one of the three most important facets of making an e-commerce project successful. She also attaches great importance to customer care; in the entire customer journey she does not start from the procedure but from the customer. Finally, she is convinced that Belgian e-commerce can get a boost through more cooperation and openness. Congratulations Kim!
